According to the data for 2013, the total value of the gross written premiums on the non-life insurance market was EUR 244.4 m, which constitutes 6.1% growth compared with the same period of the previous year. Within the product structure, motor own damage insurance (36%) and TPL motor insurance (27%), as well as non-life insurance (26%) had the highest market shares.
Fourteen companies were operating in the non-life insurance sector at the end of 2013 (including 5 branches of insurance companies registered in another member state). The largest insurance company in terms of total gross written premiums was If, which had a 26.0% market share. The next places were taken by Ergo (16.4%) and Swedebank (14.3%).
