- Earned premium
Written premium in a given period giving consideration to the settlement of revenues (premiums) over time through movement in premium provision.
- Embedded value
Actuarial valuation method referring to the value of shareholders’ profits that will be generated by the in-force insurance contracts in an insurance undertaking’s portfolio. This method incorporates shareholder risk of uncertainty concerning the timing and amount of future expected earnings.
- European embedded value
Embedded value calculated in accordance with the European Embedded Value (EEV) Principles published in May 2004 and October 2005 by the European Insurance CFO Forum. The CFO Forum represents the CFOs of major European insurance groups.
